Shrovetide at Ommel Church
Come along as Ommel Church opens its doors for a child-friendly service and a fun Shrovetide celebration.
Put on your finest or coolest costume and join a short, child-friendly Shrovetide service with cheerful songs and a little story.
Afterwards, it’s time for the traditional Danish “hit the cat out of the barrel” game, where Shrovetide kings and queens will be crowned. Prizes will also be awarded for the most beautiful and imaginative costumes.
After the barrel game, everyone can enjoy traditional Danish Shrovetide buns and hot cocoa.
Come along for a fun and cosy afternoon – and remember to bring warm clothes for spending time outdoors.
The event is free and organised by Ommel Residents’ Association and Ommel Church.
